For the most part, everyone has abdominal muscles. The only reason you do not see them is because the amount of fat that has accumulated around your belly. The fact is, if you have any extra fat around your midsection that is a sign you have fat around your heart. Your chances of becoming diabetic increases with every extra pound you put on your belly.

2. EATING FAT DOES NOT MAKE YOU FAT!

When we first stepped foot on this planet we were efficient fat burners. We were hunters and gatherers. We ate nothing but protein, fat, and vegetables. We hunted for our food and we grazed for out vegetables. When we introduced carbohydrates into our diet, our bodies no longer were efficient fat burners, so the fat started to accumulate on our stomachs. When corporations took over the fast food industry one in three people became overweight. Corporations do not make money selling protein since it is expensive, they make money by selling empty carbohydrates. Stay away from carbohydrates and your body will revert to being an efficient fat burning machine. In fact, your body can make carbohydrates out of protein and fats if you have none in your diet.

3. YOUR MEAL SHOULD FIT IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND!

We Americans eat WAY TOO MUCH FOOD! What fits in the palm of your hand is all you should be eating at any meal of the day. If you cut your amount of food taken in you will definitely become thinner. You will also notice that when you start eating smaller portions, over time, you will notice that your appetite will lessen and smaller meals will feel normal.

Your largest meal of the day should be breakfast. To be concise, for breakfast you should eat like a king. For lunch eat like a queen. And for dinner you should eat like a pauper. For most people this is hard to do. Breakfast time you don’t have an appetite or you are in too much of a hurry to take the time to eat. That is a big mistake. For most people their largest meal is dinner. That in itself is setting you up for weight gain. How much exercise do you get at night after your dinner to help burn off all the calories you just consumed? Probably none, so all that you ate will just accumulate on your stomach. Dinner should be your smallest meal!

5. PROPER DIET IS EVEN MORE IMPORTANT THAN EXERCISE!

When you eat proper food, your body will regulate itself and help maintain your normal weight. Exercise IS important of course to burn calories, but did you know that it takes a three mile run to burn off a single candy bar? So don’t look for exercise to burn off the excess weight that you have on your body. More importantly, when you exercise your body craves healthy foods. When you exercise you tear down muscle tissue and in turn your body craves healthy foods to repair your body. What you eat and the decreased amount you eat will help you lose weight more than exercise alone.

6. CARBOHYDRATES STIMULATE YOUR APPETITE!

I have already spoken about carbohydrates making you fat, not fat being the culprit. Carbohydrates also stimulate your appetite. The more carbohydrates you eat the more food you will consume. Carbohydrates make you hungry! So if you want to lose the weight STAY AWAY FROM CARBS!!!

7. WHAT FOODS YOU SHOULD AVOID AT ALL COST!

Stay away from all carbohydrates. If you want to start carving that keg down to a six pack you need to limit your daily amount of carbohydrates to under 22 grams. That is equivalent to two pieces of bread or 1/2 cup of rice. Your body will automatically burn off your fat if you follow this simple advice.

8. SIMPLY PUT…FOODS THAT MAKE YOU FAT!

  • Bread
  • Rice
  • Potatoes
  • Sugar

9. FOODS THAT CUT YOUR FAT AND MAKE YOU THIN!

  • Fish
  • Chicken
  • Beef
  • Pork
  • Vegetables
  • Low glycemic fruit that their name ends in berries.

10. DIET SODA MAKES YOU FAT!

Contrary to popular belief, diet soda does make you fat. The chemicals in diet soda actually turn off the stomach to brain connection. When you eat enough food your stomach signals the brain that you are full. So, you stop eating. When you drink diet soda, you will consume more food because your brain never gets the signal that you are full.

BONUS. YOU CAN DRINK ALCOHOL AND STILL LOSE WEIGHT!

If you like spirits, which contain zero carbs, make sure you keep it simple with seltzer water, or lime juice. Sugar added juices add to carb content. Red or white wine contains 1-2 grams of carbs respectively. If consuming beer, drink lite beer, about 4 grams of carbs. Stay away from either dessert wines which can pack a whole 14 grams in one glass while or heavy beers which can have up to 25 grams of carbs. Good rule of thumb with beers; The lighter the color the less grams of carbs a glass contains.
